I will present a webinar titled, “Hot Topics in US Sanctions: Recent Enforcement and Compliance Best Practices.”

The US Government continues to implement and vigorously enforce US economic sanctions and embargoes. Rarely a week goes by without the agency taking action, be it prohibiting trade with a newly identified North Korean front company, issuing a General License temporarily authorizing the wind-down of operations in Venezuela, or announcing a sizable penalty against a well-known international bank.

Because of how broadly US sanctions are applied, both US and non-US companies that conduct international business need to understand their obligations under US sanctions. That means understanding the scope of US sanctions, including situations when the laws are applied to non-US actors. It also means understanding what recent developments portend for extended restrictions on both current and new sanctions targets. And it means being aware of compliance best practices, particularly in light of recent guidance OFAC has issued in the context of the Zoltek enforcement action.

This webinar will provide valuable insight on the current state of US sanctions, along with practical advice for complying with sanctions both now and in the future.
